Calamity Loan

For affected Regular Members whose permanent home address is officially declared by the National Government or Local Government Unit (LGU) to be under “State of Calamity”

FEATURES:

  • Maximum loanable amount of ₱200,000
    Note: Subject to the Single Borrower’s Limit (SBL) and Net-Take-Home-Pay (NTHP) requirement as set by the respective Branch of Service)
  • Loan term: 12 months and 24 months
  • Member can only avail of one Calamity Loan at a time
ELIGIBILITY:

  • Active uniformed and non-uniformed personnel of the AFP, PNP, BFP and BJMP
  • Retired members from the AFP, PNP, BFP and BJMP
  • PVAO and NAPOLCOM pensioners

The following additional conditions on the member-borrower must be satisfied:

  • Must be a permanent resident in an area officially declared to be under “State of Calamity” per AFPSLAI records
  • Must be in good credit standing (no delinquent or past due loans on record)
  • Must have sufficient capacity to pay taking into consideration the net-take-home-pay requirement of the concerned paying jurisdiction

Note: Subject to the availability of automatic payroll/pension deduction facility

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Filled-up Calamity Loan Application, Authority to Deduct and Promissory Note
  • Photocopy of AFP/PNP/Bureau/Pensioner’s ID
  • Latest payslips (depends on the branch of service – same as Consumption Loans)
  • Certificate of Pension (including request)
  • Permanent Appointment Order (if 1st Loan)
    NOTE: Additional documents may be required

INSTRUCTIONS:

To know your monthly amortization:
  1. Enter your desired loan amount.
  2. Select the number of years you want to amortize your loan.
  3. Click “COMPUTE” to know your monthly amortization or “RESET” to clear entries.

  1. Enter your preferred amount of monthly amortization.
  2. Select the number of years you want to amortize your loan.
  3. Click “COMPUTE” to know your loan amount or “RESET” to clear entries.

Procedures

Application at the Branch Office

  1. Borrower submits LAF and requirements.
  2. If submitted documents comply with all the requirements, Loan Specialist proceeds with the processing of loan (new/renewal).
  3. Upon approval of the loan, borrower proceeds to the Releasing Section/Tellering Section for the release of his/her loan proceeds through cash, his/her Savings Deposit Account (SD-02) or through Remittance Facility.
  4. Borrower receives his/her loan proceeds.
  5. Borrower signs the Loan Release.

Online Application

  1. Borrower visit the AFPSLAI Website, click the e-Application Tab then click the e-Loan Application.
  2. Borrower fills out the online application form and gets the reference number.
  3. Borrower prints and saves the generated form.
  4. Borrower visits the selected branch office to submit the signed loan application form together with the requirements.
  5. Loan Specialist processes the loan.
  6. Upon approval of the loan, borrower proceeds to the Releasing Section/Tellering Section for the release of his/her loan proceeds through cash, his/her Savings Deposit Account (SD-02) or through Remittance Facility.
  7. Borrower receives his/her loan proceeds.
  8. Borrower signs the Loan Release.

FAQs

Q: I am greatly affected by the recent typhoon but my area was is not under State of Calamity. Can I still avail of Calamity Loan?
A: No, only areas officially declared under State of Calamity is eligible for the Calamity Loan.

Q: Is this loan covered by CRI?
A: Calamity Loan is covered by CRI in accordance with the guidelines set

Q: Can I apply for loan in any AFPSLAI branch?
A: Yes, as long as your permanent address in our membership records is located in the area declared under State of Calamity.
