NEW POLICY ON MEMBERSHIP RE-ACTIVATION AND RE-ADMISSION

Effective August 31, 2023, members who were terminated on account of company-initiated membership cleansing efforts may request for re-activation or re-admission of membership.

WHO ARE QUALIFIED FOR RE-ACTIVATION OF MEMBERSHIP?

Those whose membership was terminated due to the regular membership cleansing efforts initiated by AFPSLAI. These are members whose membership was terminated on account of 10 years non-updating and inactive status (including ineligible cadets).

WHAT ARE THE CONDITIONS FOR RE-ACTIVATION OF MEMBERSHIP?

Application for re-activation is subject to eligibility verification. It should be filed within a period of 12 months from date of actual termination. However, members who have already received the termination proceeds for their terminated membership shall no longer qualify for re-activation.

WHAT HAPPENS UPON RE-ACTIVATION OF MEMBERSHIP?

Re-activated members shall be given new account numbers. Also, Balances on the accounts as of time of termination shall be reinstated upon re-activation of the membership.

WHO ARE QUALIFIED FOR RE-ADMISSION OF MEMBERSHIP?

Those whose membership was terminated on account of 10 years non-updating and inactive status (including ineligible cadets), but filed the request for consideration after 12 months from date of actual termination; and those who voluntarily requested for termination of their membership in the past.

WHAT HAPPENS UPON RE-ADMISSION OF MEMBERSHIP?

All applications for re-admission shall be treated as a new application for membership.

Further, the applicant will be subjected to the same terms and conditions applicable to newly admitted members of the Association. Hence, balances on the accounts as of time of termination shall NOT be reinstated upon re-admission.

WHAT HAPPENS UPON RE-ADMISSION OF MEMBERSHIP?

  • Existing members will be allowed to request for re-activation only twice throughout the duration of membership with the Association, provided the reason for previous termination of membership is not the same.
  • Application for re-admission of membership would not have any limit provided that the member is in good standing as of the time of termination of membership, whether due to cleansing or own volition by members concerned.
  • Members whose membership was terminated on account of commission of acts inimical to the credit and good name of the Association, and those who were expelled from membership, are not qualified to apply for membership re-admission.
  • As provided for under Article XI Section 7 of the existing By-Laws, members shall not be entitled to interest or dividend earnings after termination has been effected.
  • Entitlement to interest/dividend earnings resumes only upon membership re-activation or re-admission.
